Both of them belong to sterilant herbicide ,but there still have big difference :
1. Different killing speed :
Glyphosate : Effect reach to peak takes 7-10 days .
Glufosinate-ammonium : Effect reach to peak takes 3-5 days .
2. Different resistance :
Both of them have good killing effect for all kinds of weeds , but for some Malignant Weed ,such as
Goosegrass Herb, Bulrush, they are easy to develop resistance towards Glyphosate because of long time use ,
therefore the killing effect for these weeds is not that good .
As Glufosinate-ammonium application time is shorter than Glyphosate ,
these kinds of weeds has not develop resistance to it yet .
3. Different mode of action :
Glyphosate belong to sterilant herbicide , it can kill the weed’s roots completely due to its good conductivity .
Glufosinate-ammonium mainly mode of action is touch-to-kill, therefore it may cannot kill the weed’s roots completely .
4. Different safety :
Because of its conductivity ,glyphosate has longer residual period ,it cannot apply on shallow-roots plant ,such as vegetable/grape/papaya/corn .
Glufosinate-ammonium do not have any residual after applying 1-3 days , its suitable and safe for any kinds of plants .
