    Application Instructions

    CITRUS

    1. Postharvest decay caused by green mould (Penicillium digitatum) and blue mould (Penicillium italicum)

Dosage: Low-volume water application, 50 mL in 25 L water (1000 ppm imazalil)

Remarks: Non-recovery water spray-on and brush-on application. Rinse and sanitise fruit according to prescribed procedure with Sporekill® (L7115) or chlorinated water before application of ImazaCure 500 EC. Apply to freshly cleaned citrus immediately prior to waxing. The 25 litres of mixture should be used to treat a maximum of 17 000 kg of citrus fruit. This treatment will also result in good sporulation control.

    2. Postharvest sporulation suppression of green and blue mould (Penicillium spp.)

Dosage: Low-volume wax application, 150 mL in 25 L wax (3000 ppm imazalil)

Remarks: Wax application. After diluting ImazaCure 500 EC in wax, stir the mixture thoroughly for at least 15 minutes with a mixing device.

ImazaCure 500 EC does not mix easily with cold water or cold water-based waxes. Since large droplets of undiluted ImazaCure 500 EC can cause serious burns to citrus, it is necessary to first mix ImazaCure 500 EC thoroughly with approximately 500 mL warm water (approximately 40 °C) before adding to the rest of water or wax in the applicator. The resulting mixture must be agitated constantly.

    3. Postharvest sporulation suppression of green and blue mould (Penicillium spp.)

Dosage: Low volume wax application after an imazalil water treatment, 100 mL in 25 L wax (2000 ppm imazalil)

Remarks: Wax application. After diluting ImazaCure 500 EC in wax, stir the mixture thoroughly for at least 15 minutes with a mixing device.

    CUCURBITS

Crops include butternuts, cantaloupes, melons, muskmelons, watermelon, pumpkins and squashes (summer and winter squash). Target disease: Stem-end decay caused by Penicillium spp.

    Dosage: 1.5 mL in 10 L water

Remarks: Apply with a sponge to the stem-end of fruit directly after harvest. Only treat 10 cm² of fruit surface. Care must be taken that the fruit-stem is sufficiently wetted and that a bigger area of the fruit is not treated. Treated fruit must be dry before packing.
