Acetamiprid

Short Description:

Mode of Action of Acetamiprid:

  • Contact & stomach action, and also has systemic properties
  • Acetamiprid works as a competitive modulator of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) in the insect central nervous system
  • Forms irreversible complexes with receptor binding sites, leading to persistent neural excitation followed by paralysis
  • IRAC Group 4A – Nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) competitive modulators

Key Properties / USPs:

  • Excellent systemic and translaminar action – penetrates leaf tissue and moves acropetally through xylem
  • Triple action – ovicidal, larvicidal, and adulticidal activity against target pests
  • Effectively controls insects resistant to organophosphates, carbamates, and pyrethroids
  • 600-fold lower acute honeybee toxicity than imidacloprid or thiamethoxam, enabling safer use in IPM programs

  • Relatively safe for beneficial insects – suitable for IPM programs
  • Rapid environmental degradation – half-life as low as 3.7 days in microbial systems
  • Low toxicity to mammals, birds, fish, and wildlife – minimal risk to non-target organisms
  • Broad-spectrum activities – Aphids, Jassids, Whiteflies, Thrips, Leafhoppers, Mealybugs, Scales, Psyllids, Caterpillars, Leafminers, Weevils, Bollworms, Colorado potato beetles, Ants, Termites, Cockroaches

Application:

1.Wheat: Apply at occurrence of aphids. Use 4.5-6 ml/mu. The safety interval is 14 days, and no more than 2 uses per growing season .

2.Tea Tree: Apply at peak of tea green leafhopper nymphs. Use 2-3 g/mu. The safety interval is 14 days, and no more than 1 use per growing season .

3.Citrus Tree: Apply at occurrence of aphids. Dilute 5000-6000 times. The safety interval is 14 days, and no more than 1 use per growing season .

4.Cucumber: Apply at early peak of aphids or whitefly. Use 30-60 ml/mu. The safety interval is 5-7 days, and no more than 2-3 uses per growing season .

5.Cruciferous Vegetables: Apply at occurrence of aphids or striped flea beetle. Dilute 1500-2000 times. The safety interval is 7-14 days, and no more than 2 uses per growing season .

Cautions:

Each crop can be used up to 1-2 times per growing season to avoid resistance. The safety interval varies by crop: 5-7 days for cucumber, 14 days for wheat, citrus, tea tree, and cruciferous vegetables .

This insecticide is toxic to fish, bees, and silkworms. Do not apply during flowering periods or near sericulture areas. Keep away from aquaculture areas and do not clean application equipment in rivers or ponds .

Do not mix with alkaline pesticides. Rotate with insecticides having different modes of action to delay resistance development .

If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately. If splashed into eyes, rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical advice .
